With 58.25% of traffic from YouTube, it is responsible for the largest social media traffic source for Gemini users. 

Facebook and WhatsApp are neck to neck with 10.16% and 10.01% traffic respectively. 

Nearly 3.66% of Gemini’s social traffic comes from X and 3.66% from Tumblr.

Microsoft Copilot, Gemini’s another competitor, has a 14.40% market share, and Deepseek has 0.70% market share in 2025.

Gemini hit the AI chatbots market with an impact and acquired a 16.2% market share in January 2024. The market share has been fluctuating since and reduced to 13.3% in July 2024.

Google Gemini’s mobile app got around 12.67 million downloads in September 2024. This was a drop of nearly 4.39 million downloads from October’s 17.05 million downloads. 

For comparison, Google Gemini received 692,853 downloads in February 2024 and grew to 5.4 million downloads in June 2024.

In India, Gemini captured a 52% market share in AI chatbot downloads, surpassing ChatGPT’s 32% share, which declined from 67% the previous year.

Gemini Ultra model scored 90.0% on the Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU) benchmark, which tests knowledge and problem-solving abilities in topics such as history, physics, math, law, ethics, and medicine.

In most benchmark tests, Gemini Ultra outperformed GPT-4. For example, in the MMLU benchmark, Gemini Ultra achieved 90.0%, outperforming GPT-4’s 86.4%.
