Founded in 2005, Reddit is a community-driven platform that has grown into one of the internet’s most visited destinations. Known as the front page of the internet, Reddit attracts a diverse audience through its thousands of active subreddits and authentic user-generated threads on almost every niche topic.

In 2025, Reddit had a breakout financial year, crossing $2.2 billion in annual revenue and delivering $530 million in net income, making it the platform’s first full profitable year.

Halfway through 2026, that momentum has held. Reddit crossed half a billion weekly users in Q2 2026 and posted its eighth straight quarter of revenue growth above 60%.

Below, we’ve compiled the latest Reddit statistics which we have sourced from Reddit’s Q2 2026 earnings release, the 2026 Proxy Statement, the 2025 Annual Report (Form 10-K), and our own deep research about the platform.

Reddit Statistics (2026) At a Glance

  • Reddit has 130.3 million Daily Active Uniques (DAUq) as of Q2 2026, up 18% year-over-year.
  • The Weekly Active Uniques (WAUq) stand at 514.6 million, crossing half a billion for the first time.
  • Reddit crossed $2.2 billion in total revenue in FY 2025, a 69% increase year-over-year.
  • Reddit’s net income for FY 2025 was $530 million, compared to a net loss of $484 million in 2024.
  • Advertising revenue of $762 million in Q2 2026 alone grew 64% year-over-year.
  • Over 80 million people searched directly on Reddit every week as of Q4 2025, the most recent figure Reddit has disclosed.
  • Reddit has 2.8 million total subreddits and approximately 138,000 active ones.
  • The U.S. remains Reddit’s largest market, contributing 42.95% of global traffic.
  • Reddit’s net income was $253 million in Q2 2026, 31% of revenue, more than double the prior year.
  • Adjusted EBITDA reached $343 million in Q2 2026, a 43% margin, up 106% year-over-year.
  • Reddit now hosts over 26 billion posts and comments.

Reddit Monthly Active Users

As of July 2026, Reddit has an estimated 1.481 billion monthly active users, up from 1.36 billion in 2025 and 1.21 billion in 2024. Reddit does not disclose MAU in its financial filings, so this figure comes from third-party estimates.

This means roughly 17% of the world’s internet-connected population visits Reddit every month, placing it firmly among the top social platforms globally. Reddit ranks 5th among social media platforms by MAUs, trailing only Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube.

Bar chart showing Reddit MAUs over the year

What makes this growth particularly significant is that Reddit has accelerated its MAU growth meaningfully. From 2018 to 2021, the platform roughly doubled its monthly users, and from 2021 to 2025, it added another 500 million.

Reddit Weekly Active Users

Reddit reported 514.6 million Weekly Active Uniques (WAUq) in Q2 2026, up 24% year-over-year from 416.4 million in Q2 2025. This was the first quarter Reddit crossed half a billion weekly users. It is one of Reddit’s most impressive growth metrics, showing that users aren’t just signing up, they’re coming back regularly.

Reddit Weekly Active Users

International WAUq grew 35% year-over-year in Q2 2026 to 317.4 million, far outpacing U.S. WAUq growth of 9% to 197.2 million.

This signals that Reddit’s global expansion strategy is gaining real traction. The platform’s machine translation across 35 languages has been a key driver, with roughly one billion posts translated as of December 2025.

Reddit Daily Active Users

International DAUq grew significantly faster than U.S. DAUq, up 28% to 77.1 million against 6% to 53.2 million year-over-year in Q2 2026. International users now outnumber U.S. users on a daily basis by a wide margin.

Device Usage Stats for Reddit Users

Reddit is overwhelmingly a mobile-first platform. Mobile devices account for approximately 5.9 billion visits to Reddit compared to 1.67 billion from desktops, making mobile traffic about 3.5 times larger. This gap is even more pronounced in mobile-heavy markets like India, where 71.24% of Reddit traffic comes from phones.

The mobile shift has clear implications for how advertisers approach Reddit — vertical video, in-feed formats, and app-first placements are increasingly important. Reddit has continued investing in its mobile app experience to reduce friction and improve engagement for new users.

Number of Posts Shared on Reddit Per Year

As per the latest available data, Reddit has over 26 billion posts and comments on the platform. Reddit disclosed this figure in its Q2 2026 earnings release, up from 25 billion in early July 2026.

If you need a breakdown, here is what happened on Reddit in the first half of 2024:

Reddit generated 5.33 billion pieces of content in the first half of 2024 alone, spanning posts, comments, private messages, and chats. This volume of user-generated content is a key differentiator for Reddit, it’s not just traffic, but a constant stream of authentic conversations that users and AI systems alike have found increasingly valuable.

Number of Posts Shared on Reddit Per Year

The platform receives approximately 2 billion comments annually, and that figure is projected to reach 3.5 billion by 2026. The sheer volume of interactions across niche and broad communities is one reason Reddit has become a significant data licensing partner for AI companies.

Reddit Employee Statistics

As per the latest official data (year-end 2025), Reddit employed 2,555 full-time staff, a 14.4% increase from 2,233 employees in 2024. Headcount has almost certainly grown since, as Reddit reported crossing $1 million in revenue per employee in Q2 2026.

The majority of Reddit’s workforce (1,619 employees) is based in the United States. Beyond full-time employees, the platform relies on approximately 60,000 volunteer content moderators who manage subreddit communities.

Reddit’s lean headcount relative to its scale is a reflection of its community-moderated model, where much of the content curation is done by volunteer moderators rather than paid staff. That structural efficiency supports Reddit’s high gross margins, which reached 91.3% in Q2 2026, up from 90.8% a year earlier.

Reddit Business and Advertising Statistics

Reddit has established itself as a powerful platform for performance advertising, particularly for brands trying to reach high-intent audiences in research and decision-making mode. Around 90% of Reddit users visit the platform to get ideas about brands and products, and 27% say they’re more likely to purchase a product after seeing it advertised on Reddit.

In Q4 2025, Reddit launched Reddit Max campaigns — an AI-powered, automated ad campaign type designed to optimize targeting, creative selection, and budget allocation. Early results from the Brooks Running case study showed a 37% decrease in cost per click, 26% lift in click volume, and 26% increase in CTR compared to standard campaigns. Lower-funnel conversion volume doubled year-over-year in Q4, signaling that Reddit’s ad product maturity is catching up with its audience scale.

Reddit also introduced Community Intelligence, a tool that decodes 26+ billion posts and comments into structured audience signals, helping advertisers understand who is engaging with their ads across Reddit’s communities.

Reddit also expanded Dynamic Product Ads in 2025, letting advertisers build ads directly from their product catalog and place them in the conversations where Redditors are deciding what to buy. Reddit Answers, the platform’s AI-powered conversational search tool, was integrated into core search during the same period.
